Roll up your sleeves, Minneapolis!

The Old Highland Neighborhood Association (OHNA) and Preserve Minneapolis are excited to announce that nationally renowned tradesman Bob Yapp will lead nine days of hands-on home restoration workshops for local residents June 22nd – July 2nd, 2012. These bootcamp style workshops will hammer down topics such as window repair, passive floor refinishing, proper painting techniques, and exterior wood repair.

Classes will be free to participants and ALL SKILL LEVELS are encouraged to attend!

Workshop dates:

Window Restoration Boot Camp
June 22, 23 & 24, 2012

Exterior Wood Repair
June 26 & 27, 2012

Paint It Right
June 28, 2012

Passive Wood Floor Restoration & Repair

Structures in Old Highland, located in north Minneapolis, will act as the classroom; this 30-block enclave features many fine Victorian homes from the turn of the century.

  2. Put a pre-determined amount of sweat equity into an older house/structure once the class is completed.
  3. Put the new information to use and/or teach others the skills/ information gained.

Please review each workshop (click on the associated title/hyperlink)  and note which ones interest you.

Finally, fill out our registration form on the OHNA website! Registration closes on May 11th, 11:59 pm. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance and workshop placement on the Week of May 14th.
