NEBL's Fight to Protect the St. Anthony Falls Historic District

For those of you following the Neighbors for East Bank Livability (NEBL) lawsuit against the Alatus Development in the St. Anthony Falls Historic District, we are happy to announce it met its $100,000 goal May 25th, securing a stay in the demolition of the Commercial Club. Take a look at the Press Release NEBL shared shortly after achieving their goal. While St. Anthony Falls Historic District is still facing redevelopment threats with inappropriately tall buildings (Alatus and the recent 20-story building proposal at the General Mills site by Doran and CSM), this huge victory showcases how historic preservation is often a grassroots effort. NEBL's ongoing fight reminds us at Preserve Minneapolis that Minneapolitans have a voice in how our community is shaped and that we can rise together to advocate for our cultural heritage. We are proud to be NEBL supporters and hope that you will join us in continuing to advocate for our shared goal.
