Join Preserve Minneapolis for an evening stroll through two historic landscapes—the Knoll and Northrop Mall—on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota. The tour will start at the Pillsbury Gate (Fourteenth Avenue SE and University Avenue Southeast), and will explore the Picturesque landscape of the Knoll area, which was designed by prominent nineteenth-century landscape architect Horace W. S. Cleveland. It will also take in the Beaux-Arts-inspired Northrop Mall, envisioned by Cass Gilbert, Clarence Johnston, Sr., and Morell and Nichols. We will learn about the history of both landscapes, discover some hidden spots, and hear about the University’s plans for connections between the campus and the Mississippi River. Try the new Green Line, take a Nice Ride bike, or drive on over to the university. This event is free and we hope to see you there!
