Historic Wesley Center Instameet

  • Historic Wesley Center (map)

The Historic Wesley Center is “the most costly, most elegant, best preserved, and most centrally located church designed by Warren H. Hayes within the city of Minneapolis", according to its nomination for the National Register of Historic Places.

Built in 1891 the Richardsonian Romanesque marvel boasts two steel-supported stained glass domes, sweeping balconies, and exquisite details from the radiators to the 13 carved wood tambour doors.

No longer a church, the Historic Wesley Center now houses Minneapolis-based nonprofits that serve the local community and is also available for weddings and events.

A presentation on the history of the 125-year-old building will be followed by a behind-the-scenes tour from the Building Director Bekah Coffman.
