The first families of Minneapolis brewing in the 19th century were the Glueks, Muellers, Orths and Heinricks. After the breweries consolidated around 1890, the second generation desired to live among the new middle class in the newly developed Lowry Hill and Sunnyside suburbs. Walk with local historian Kathy Kullberg to see where and how they lived. End the tour with a "cold one" at the LynLake Brewery at 2934 Lyndale Avenue South on a hot August Saturday afternoon. A tour of the brewery is also included, with a discount on brews.
Please note that this tour ends at the LynLake Brewery, which is about 3/4 a mile from the starting location.
The tour walks about 1 mile and is ADA accessible.
