This tour will cover the area around 27th Avenue South & Lake Street and its transition from a crossroads of an American Indian route between the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers and the Falls of St. Anthony, to the bustling "Downtown Longfellow" that we know it as today. Learn how early railroad and industrial entities set the stage for the working class community that grew up in the area as the City of Minneapolis expanded south of downtown, and how transportation infrastructure has changed over the years and left its mark on the community.
This tour walks about one mile and is ADA accessible.
